"A sensory delight with this wine's bold aromas!"

“Aromas of wild berries, wet stones, and peppercorns, leading into a medium-bodied palate with fine tannins. Round and creamy, with fresh acidity at the core and a succulent berry core on the finish.” (James Suckling 2023). Caeli means “air” or “sky” in Latin.

About the estate:

Founded in 2006 by Jean Marot, a proponent of organic farming, this 15-hectare estate is divided into two sections: one south of Mont Ventoux, the other closer to the Dentelles de Montmirail. It was acquired in 2019 by the Combe family, owners of Dom. de la Fourmone in Vacqueyras, who entrusted management to Florentine and Albin (5th generation) to produce exclusively Ventoux wines, certified organic.

A classic Ventoux that emphasizes finesse and concentrated fruit rather than power and complexity. Easy-drinking, dense, and full-bodied with soft tannins against a backdrop of acidity and a velvety texture, featuring intense flavors of small black berries, spices, and notes of the forest floor, while maintaining a decent, refreshing finish with mineral notes. Overall, it’s average and slightly overpriced, but it’s the perfect companion for sharing with friends over a BBQ of lamb chops with herbes de Provence and grilled eggplant, or even a moussaka. Rating = 3.7.
