"A burst of fruit—refreshing and best enjoyed slightly chilled!"

Grown on beautiful limestone scree terroirs, this Gamay is a full-bodied wine with a brilliant ruby-to-deep-red hue. Its fruity, lingering aromas evoke strawberries and raspberries. With age, it may develop animal notes. Let yourself be tempted by its easy-drinking character, as well as its body and structure, which make it an ideal wine to pair with all your appetizers and meals. A low price that’s making waves.

Bettane & Desseauve

Bettane & Desseauve

Rated 2 stars (A solid, recommendable production, though slightly more conventional and uniform than the previous one)

About the estate:

This large 28-hectare estate was long managed by André and Michel. Guillaume, Michel’s son, joined the business in 2009. The estate is located on the steep hillside of Torméry, south of Chignin. It was the grandfather who oversaw the replanting in the 1950s. The estate avoids herbicides as much as possible but cannot work all its plots by hand. Guillaume is experimenting with organic farming on the two and a half hectares he acquired to establish the Côteau de Torméry estate. He is also conducting aging trials in large oak casks or stoneware. A broad, consistent range with promising innovations.

About the estate:

Michel Quénard took over the family estate, founded by his grandparents, in 1976. His son Guillaume joined him in 2009, after studying at the wine school in Beaune and then at the engineering school in Changins (Switzerland), and took over the reins of this estate, one of the most renowned in Savoie, known for its consistently high quality in both red and white wines.
