André et Michel Quenard - Chignin Vieilles Vignes 2024
2*Étoiles
Hachette
"Supple, complex and richly aromatic on the palate".
"This magnificent Jacquère, born of 70-year-old vines, has been proposed as a Favorite. A nose of great floral freshness, centered on hawthorn and jasmine, finds a long echo in a palate animated by a light perlage and lively, mineral and fruity flavors, before finishing on elegant floral notes. Applause! (Le Guide Hachette 2026)

Bettane & Desseauve
Domaine rated 2*Stars (A serious and recommendable production, but a little more regular and homogeneous than the previous one)
About the domain :
This 28-hectare estate has long been run by André and Michel. Michel's son Guillaume joined in 2009. The estate is located on the steep slope of Torméry, south of Chignin. It was the grandfather who led its replanting in the 1950s. The estate avoids herbicides as much as possible, but cannot work all its plots by hand. Guillaume is trying his hand at organic farming on the two and a half hectares he took over to create the Côteau de Torméry estate. He is also experimenting with ageing in foudres or stoneware. A wide, coherent range with promising innovations.

About the wine:
This magnificent, regularly featured Jacquère, born of 70-year-old Jacquère vines, was proposed as a Favorite. A nose of great floral freshness, centered on hawthorn and jasmine, finds a long echo in a palate animated by a light perlage and lively, mineral and fruity flavors, before finishing on elegant floral notes. We applaud.
About the domain :
Michel Quénard took over the family domaine, founded by his grandparents, in 1976. His son Guillaume joined him in 2009, after studying at the Lycée Viticole de Beaune and then at the Changins engineering school in Switzerland, and has since taken the helm of one of Savoie's most renowned estates, with a very consistent quality in both red and white wines.

A very pleasant wine to drink, with a sapid, suave mouthfeel. The acidity is fully integrated, and I think it would go better with a fish dish than a traditional raclette.
