(Notes from the 2011 vintage)

Aromas of blackcurrant dominate the nose of the Vieillefont cuvée, which has a ruby color with purple highlights. The palate is round and silky. The tannins are fine and supple. A real treat!

Wine rating (2016 guide) 15/20 (2011 vintage) (Good wine)

Rated estate (2021 guide) 1*Star (Up-and-coming stars or quality winemakers producing good wines; you won't be disappointed when tasting the wines from these estates)

About the estate:

Jean-Mary and Catherine Le Bihan took over the family farm and decided to focus on the hillsides of Duras. It was a wise decision, as they have elevated the estate to one of the best in the Southwest. In this appellation, which is struggling to emerge, this estate uses common grape varieties to produce original wines that are pleasant to drink young or suitable for aging, such as the superb Perrette and Les Noisetiers 2014, tasted in magnum. Clémence, one of their daughters, has joined them.
