Château Moulin Caresse - Magie d'Automne 2012 (Moelleux)
Grown on a south-facing plateau of boulbènes on iron-rich clay soils, this sweet wine with a light yellow color has a delicate and elegant nose, with hints of pear, quince, and white flowers. A creamy white wine that retains good freshness, rich on the palate without being cloyingly sweet, with notes of white fruit and apricot… A delightful treat!

Food and Wine Pairings
Enjoy as an aperitif, with foie gras, a Roquefort and pear tart, blue cheeses, and bitter or tangy desserts (be careful with desserts that are too sweet); it pairs well with sabayons made with tart fruits (strawberries, citrus), and also works well in cocktails...
Bettane & Desseauve
Rated estate (2027 guide): 2*Stars (A solid, recommendable vintage, though slightly more consistent and uniform than the previous one)
About the estate:
Sylvie and Jean-François Deffarge have proudly represented Montravel at this family-owned estate since 1749, which spans 38 hectares on the hillsides and the Vélines plateau. They have recently handed the reins over to their sons, Quentin and Benjamin, while remaining on hand to support them. The extensive lineup offers wines suitable for every occasion. Guide Hachette des vins
Rated Estate: Award-Winning Wines (This producer’s wines regularly receive awards from the guide)
About the estate:
A very old family estate (1749) located on the hills above Montravel, this vast property is now one of the leading names in the Bergerac region, thanks to the work carried out since 1990 (when the estate left the cooperative) by Jean-François Deffarge, a “self-taught oenologist,” who is now handing the reins over to his sons Benjamin and Quentin. The vineyard (50 ha) spans two distinct terroirs: clay-limestone slopes and a high plateau of boulbène soil. Currently in the process of converting to organic farming.
