About the estate:
Alain Brumont develops his personality through a style that has made Madiran wines famous throughout the world under the Château Montus label, which he bought in 1980. Often bucking conventional wisdom, Brumont's vintages reflect his great freedom in interpreting terroirs with yellow and red clay subsoils, ranging from 20 to 40%. Tannat is featured in the château's three wines, Prestige, XL, Montus and La Tyre, and certainly delivers the most spectacular profile of this difficult-to-handle Pyrenean grape.

Ultimately, it may be more balanced than TORUS. In the end, you get just as much enjoyment for less money. Why deprive yourself? I enjoyed it with chicken and merguez sausage couscous. A successful pairing.
