Joh. Jos. Prüm Winery
The Joh. Jos. Prüm estate is located in the Middle Moselle Valley, around the 50th parallel, one of the northernmost wine-growing regions in the world. The main consequence of this location is a very long growing season—sometimes lasting until December—with a relatively cold climate, which allows Riesling to develop intense fruity, floral, and herbal aromas, maintain high acidity, and absorb the minerality of the slate soils.

The Joh. Jos. Prüm estate now has 20 hectares of vines. Only Riesling, mainly old ungrafted vines.

In the 19th century, the Prüm estate already had a very good reputation until the death of Matthias, the last manager of the family estate. The vineyard was then divided into seven parts. In 1911, Johann Josef Prüm, one of Matthias' sons, bought the plots from one of his brothers and created the Joh. Jos. Prüm estate.

In 1969, Manfred Prüm, Johann Josef's grandson, took over from his father Sebastian. He continues the family's tradition of excellence.
Today, Manfred is assisted by his daughter Katherina Prüm in developing the estate, whose wines are known for their aging potential, freshness, and complex and expressive character.

Joh. Jos. Prümis a member of the VDP. Die Prädikatweingüter, the prestigious association of Germany's best winegrowers.
