"This is a fairly smooth and austere wine, but with so many spring flowers and freshly picked apples. The finish is extremely lively, with the freshness of a mountain stream. Only 10.5% alcohol! Drink now." (James Suckling 2022)

Wine rating (2022 guide) 92/100 (Outstanding wine)

Rated estate (2021 guide) Recommended (Wine producer recommended by Robert Parker - The Wine Advocate)

About wine:

The 2020 Riesling Wehlener Klosterberg Kabinett (white cap) presents aromas of ripe, juicy white peach, bright and finely concentrated, intertwined with slatey and fresh notes. Dense and straightforward on the palate, this is a lean and taut Riesling, salty and gripping, which is far too young to be enjoyed before 2025 or perhaps even 2030. From a hot year, this is a Kabinett from a cool climate with an alcohol content of 10.5% but an intense flavor. Natural cork. Tasted at the estate in July 2022.
