"A Riesling with plenty of charm, according to James Suckling—it's fresh, youthful, and deliciously herbaceous!"

"Molitor's 2022 Wehlener Klosterberg Kabinett Riesling (white capsule) is a Mosel classic that opens with a pure, bright, fresh, and floral bouquet of ripe fruit, crushed slate, and lemon zest. Round and juicy on the palate, this elegant and charming Kabinett comes from a cooler site in the side valley where the estate is located. It is easy to drink and has enough minerality to pair with raw seafood or fish. Declared alcohol: 10%. Natural cork. Tasted at the winery in August 2024. 2024–2040” (Robert Parker 2024)

About the wine:

Intense aromas of lemon zest and star fruit, along with the freshness of garden herbs, lend this dry, young, and light Riesling a great deal of charm. Despite its moderate acidity, it is lively and full of flavor on the palate. Only 10% alcohol. Enjoy now or save for later.

Review and comment by Mr. FREDERIC B. Posted on March 31, 2025

Bright, clear color with body. A floral nose and a hint of lemon. The palate is full-bodied and round, despite a hint of effervescence that fades quickly. The wine’s body and suppleness are reminiscent of a demi-sec. It’s very well made, though I find it lacks a touch of acidity and liveliness.
