"From a terroir known to be one of the most exceptional in the region, with some vines over 100 years old, an extraordinary Riesling."

The 2018 Riesling Zeltinger Sonnenuhr Auslese *** (green cap) is precise and highly aromatic with a deep, clear, crystalline, and complex nose that reveals irresistibly elegant and very fine aromas of peach, mirabelle plum, and slate. It is the finest and most seductive nose of the 2018 feinherb or green cap Rieslings, and it couldn't be more appealing. On the palate, it is a medium-sweet to sweet Auslese, very intense, tight, long, complex and lasting, with rich but precise fruit, very refined and elegant, walking on a crystalline walkway that gives grip and tension to the very fine slate. The body of the wine builds itself from its inner depth and leads to a persistent, very long and aromatic finish whose substance and freshness indicate fantastic aging potential. I'm not sure, but in its sensual and seductive character, the 2018 is reminiscent of Molitor's 2006." (Wine Advocate Robert Parker 2020)

About wine:

If you want to know what the great wines of the Moselle tasted like when they were young a century ago, this wine will give you a good idea. Lots of herbaceous freshness, but also the deep, rhythmic bass notes of a Bach organ piece, followed by stunning elegance in the long, mineral and herbaceous finish. Drink now or keep.
