"The Pinot Gris Grand Cru Sonnenglanz Vendanges Tardives was harvested early, resulting in very precise and complex aromas of ripe fruit mixed with mineral scents. On the palate, it is a very mineral and straightforward Vendanges Tardives, dense, intense, long, salty, and lively, with a very stimulating finish. " (Wine Advocate - Robert Parker) An intense and complex Pinot Gris, marked by great finesse, which will give a lot of pleasure!

Bettane & Desseauve
Wine rated (2019 guide) 17/20 (Reference wine)
About wine:
Intense floral aromas, but the roundness on the palate still needs to blend with the lovely acidity.
Guide des Vins Gault & Millau
Wine rated (2014 guide) 16,5/20 (Very good)
About wine:
A beautiful expression of this terroir, where wines develop great maturity thanks to the presence of botrytis. This Pinot Gris is a delight, perfectly combining density and tension with a complexity and subtlety that will come into its own with a little patience.

Wine rated (2016 guide) 17/20 (Great wine)
Rated estate (2023 guide) 2 stars (These very large estates, often blessed with fabulous terroirs, are must-haves which, thanks to their consistency and the excellence of their production, deserve a place in the cellars of discerning wine lovers).
About wine:
The late harvest Pinot Gris is wonderfully fresh with aromas of candied citrus fruits.
About the estate:
Perfectionist Jean-Christophe Bott is one of Alsace's leading winemakers. He is committed to rigorous work in the cellar and in the vineyard, which is cultivated biodynamically. While it only covered 4 hectares when it was founded in 1953, the estate now has 15 hectares spread across seven communes. The wines here are full-bodied and smooth, with well-controlled richness and no heaviness whatsoever, particularly the Pinot Gris, which is definitely worth rediscovering. Each cuvée has both power and length on the palate, two qualities that lead to fullness. To top it all off, the estate offers slightly older vintages for sale and has recently started renting out cottages.
