Domaine Bott-Geyl

Domaine Bott-Geyl has been run since 1993 by Jean-Christophe Bott, heir to a family tradition dating back to 1795. Domaine Bott-Geyl’s vineyards span 14 hectares, including 5 Grands Crus and 3 Lieux-dits, spread across 7 communes from Ribeauvillé to Kientzheim, in the central sector of the “Perles du Vignoble” in Alsace. Domaine Bott-Geyl strives to enhance the natural qualities and unique characteristics of each of its terroirs and to conduct winemaking in such a way that these specific traits are reflected in the wines produced.

Jean-Christophe Bott converted Domaine Bott-Geyl to organic farming in 2000 and to biodynamic farming in 2002. He works with low yields and vinifies in a natural and minimalist manner: this is the art of bringing together tradition and modernity, ensuring the vineyard’s sustainability and ecological responsibility. The soil and vines of Domaine Bott-Geyl are cherished and receive the best care: digging, plowing, spreading organic compost, pruning, and harvesting done exclusively by hand. Domaine Bott-Geyl intervenes minimally in the process of transforming grape juice into wine, letting nature take its course, to capture in the bottle the essence of the terroir and the vintage, thus producing Alsace and Alsace Grand Cru wines of remarkable quality.
