Domaine Bott-Geyl

Domaine Bott-Geyl has been run since 1993 by Jean-Christophe Bott, heir to a family tradition dating back to 1795. Domaine Bott-Geyl's vineyards cover 14 hectares, including 5 Grands Crus and 3 Lieux-dits, spread across 7 communes from Ribeauvillé to Kientzheim, in the central area of the "Perles du Vignoble" in Alsace. Domaine Bott-Geyl strives to enhance the natural qualities and characteristics of each of its terroirs and to conduct vinification in such a way that these specificities are reflected in the wines produced.

Jean-Christophe Bott converted Domaine Bott-Geyl to organic farming in 2000 and to biodynamic farming in 2002. He works with low yields and vinifies in a natural and minimalist way: it is the art of bringing together tradition and modernity, sustainability of the vineyard and ecological concerns. The soil and vines at Domaine Bott-Geyl are pampered and receive the best care: digging, plowing, spreading organic compost, pruning, and harvesting exclusively by hand. Domaine Bott-Geyl intervenes minimally in the process of transforming grape juice into wine, letting nature take its course to ensure that the bottle reflects the terroir and the vintage, thus producing Alsace and Alsace Grand Cru wines of remarkable quality.
