"That truly unique, high-quality plot of Malbec that the Zapatas draw upon to add to the blend for the Nicolas and the Argentino!"

“The 2020 Catena Zapata Nicasia Vineyard Malbec was fermented in barrels—10% of which included stems—and underwent final aging in barrels that had been used multiple times. It has a purple color. On the nose, it reveals notes of violet, lavender, plum, and a hint of morello cherry, followed by barrel-aged aromas that then unfold into notes of mint and orange peel. Smooth, with silky, polished tannins and a delicate character, it offers a full-bodied, juicy palate that concludes with a lingering finish. A successful wine for the 2020 vintage. 2022–2035” (Vinous 2022) — Delivery in a wooden case is available for orders of 6 bottles of this wine (depending on the country and selected shipping method)

About the wine:

The 2020 Catena Zapata Nicasia Vineyard Malbec, from the Paraje Altamira vineyard, offers juicy, peachy aromas. The result of a warm year in a temperate climate, this wine stands out for its balance, slightly greater ripeness, and roundness, while retaining its elegance and finesse. On the palate, it is full-bodied and generous, with juicy, abundant tannins. With a production of 20,004 bottles, it was bottled in November 2021. 2024–2030

About the wine:

A bouquet of dark and blue fruits, very fragrant and elegant. Cherries, plums, and blueberries with a hint of pepper. Notes of violet are also detectable. The palate is dry, with abundant, silky tannins and a juicy, lingering finish. Ready to drink now, but it will reach its peak starting in 2026.
