"One of Catena Zapata's two finest Chardonnays, from a micro-plot with a dazzling concentration, according to Robert Parker!"

"It has characteristic aromas of green ginger, stone fruit, herbs, and mineral austerity. The palate is austere, almost severe, entirely focused on a chalky texture and tension. [...] It develops floral flavors during aging, giving it additional complexity. Drink now or hold." (James Suckling 2025)

Wine rated (2025 guide) 96+/100 (Extraordinary wine)

Rated Recommended (Wine producer recommended by Robert Parker - The Wine Advocate)

About wine:

Adrianna Vineyard's Chardonnay White Stones 2023 displays classic aromatic purity and concentration, with dominant aromas of citrus peel, iodine, and dried herbs, complemented by an elegant hint of pastry cream in the background. The palate extends this combination with a sculpted and precisely defined texture that lingers into an ethereal finish of dazzling concentration. Initially quite discreet, it gradually and steadily reveals depth of texture and length on the finish, and I believe it will merit a higher rating after further bottle aging. 2025-2035

About wine:

The Chardonnay Adrianna Vineyard White Stones 2023 from Gualtallary, Tupungato, offers an expressive profile with notes of green apple, mountain herbs, light hazelnut, acacia, and chamomile, framed by subtle oak and a touch of flint. Dry, lively, and energized by acidity, it has a chalky texture and delicate tension, leading to a long, refined finish. 2025-2038

About wine:

It has characteristic aromas of green ginger, stone fruit, herbs, and a mineral austerity. The palate is austere, almost severe, entirely focused on a chalky texture and tension. It comes from a part of the vineyard covered with granite rocks coated in calcium carbonate. Pressed once with whole clusters, then aged in 500-liter barrels and 30% in vats. It develops a bouquet during aging, which gives it additional complexity. Drink now or keep.
