“An intense vintage from the estate’s oldest vines”

“An astonishing Chenas with a wonderful blend of concentrated black cherries and wild berries, fine tannins, and excellent freshness for this hot, dry vintage. The finish is very long and concentrated, with a hint of stony minerality that enhances this medium-bodied wine.” (James Suckling 2024)

Rated estate (2023 guide) 2*Stars (A solid, recommendable vintage, though slightly more consistent and uniform than the previous one)

About the estate:

Originally from Bresse, Anita Khunel, after a brilliant career as a road cyclist (she competed in the World Championships in Slovenia in 1996!), decided to return to the family estate that same year. There, she learned the craft of viticulture and winemaking before establishing her own winery in 2015: Domaine Anita. Today, the estate encompasses six appellations: Moulin-à-Vent, Chénas, Morgon, Fleurie, Beaujolais, and Beaujolais-Villages. Known for her structured style, Anita Kuhnel achieves greater precision and balance with each passing year. 2017 is a great success. We’re not far from that third star!
