James Suckling
"For twice the fun!"
“Brace yourselves. Here is an extraordinarily alluring expression of Moulin-à-Vent. Dense and compact, yet also incredibly velvety and dynamic, this wine makes a powerful impression, almost as if you were encountering the goddess of black cherries. Fine tannins and remarkable minerality intertwine in a dazzling, almost infinite finish.” (James Suckling 2025)

Bettane & Desseauve
Rated estate (2023 guide): 2 stars (A solid, recommendable wine, though slightly more consistent and uniform than the previous vintage)
About the estate:
Originally from Bresse, Anita Khunel, after a brilliant career as a road cyclist (she competed in the World Championships in Slovenia in 1996!), decided to return to the family estate that same year. There, she learned the craft of viticulture and winemaking before founding her own winery in 2015: Domaine Anita. Today, the estate encompasses six appellations: Moulin-à-Vent, Chénas, Morgon, Fleurie, Beaujolais, and Beaujolais-Villages. Known for her structured style, Anita Kuhnel achieves greater precision and balance with each passing year. 2017 is a resounding success. We’re not far from that third star!
