"The Château's entire 5-hectare terroir, planted with 60-year-old vines, is the source of this whole-cluster cuvée, which impresses with its balance, length and mineral character. It develops pure notes of fresh red fruit: cherry and redcurrant in particular. A complete, complex Chénas". (Le Guide Hachette 2024)

About the domain :
On the borders of Burgundy and Beaujolais, this château takes its name from Sieur Bonnet, alderman of the town of Mâcon, who built a manor house here in 1630, where Lamartine later stayed. Acquired by the Perrachon family in 1973, the estate now boasts 22 ha of vines. Pierre-Yves Perrachon, head of the estate since 1988, was joined in 2013 by his daughter Charlotte, a nologist. He has also joined forces with a winegrower from the Mâconnais region to complete his operation with a trading structure, Bourgogne Sélect.

Fresh and juicy to perfection, Le Clos delights the palate with the spontaneity of its sparkling fruit and nuances of spice, enhanced by a mineral framework offering a fine, lively style. The tannins are still a little prominent, embellished by refined ageing. Correct, firm finish. This is already a wine of great delicacy and depth, even if it needs a little patience to gain in suppleness. This young Chénas was at ease with a petit salé with lentils from Puy en Velay. Score = 4.
