“Hail Caesar!”

“Fifteen months of aging have resulted in a full-bodied, intense vintage with a robust density on the palate, supported by well-integrated tannins and expressing beautiful aromatic nuances dominated by pepper and black fruits. A wine of character, built to last.” (Le Guide Hachette 2026)

Rated estate (2022 guide) Award-winning wines (This producer’s wines are regularly recognized by the guide)

About the wine:

The estate cultivates 60-year-old vines across 3 hectares in Juliénas. The grapes were partially destemmed (30%), and the wine was aged for an extended period in vats. Fifteen months of aging have contributed to a full-bodied and intense cuvée, with solid density on the palate, supported by well-integrated tannins and expressing beautiful aromatic nuances dominated by pepper and black fruits. A wine of character, built to last.

About the estate:

Located on the border between Burgundy and Beaujolais, this château takes its name from Sieur Bonnet, a councilman of the city of Mâcon, who built a manor house there in 1630 where Lamartine later stayed. Acquired by the Perrachon family in 1973, the estate comprises 22 hectares of vineyards. Pierre-Yves Perrachon, who has led the estate since 1988, was joined in 2013 by his daughter Charlotte, an enologist. He has also partnered with a winemaker from the Mâconnais region to expand his operations through a wine merchant firm, Bourgogne Sélect.

About the wine:

Dusty and mineral, with savory aromas of red and blue berries and notes of crushed stone, herbs, and white pepper. The medium-bodied palate is taut, juicy, and nicely framed by chalky tannins. Enjoy now or celller.
