Bursting from the glass with aromas of raspberries, wild plums, spices, and rose petals, the Morgon Côte du Py Javernières offers beautiful depth, concentration, acidity, and a structure dusted with tannins. Still somewhat tight following its recent bottling, it will, as always, benefit from several years of cellaring. A wine that will delight serious admirers of this Beaujolais cru.

Rated estate (2023 guide) 3*Stars (These represent the pinnacle of French winemaking. The finest terroirs cultivated by the greatest winemakers. Tasting their wine is always a magical experience)
About the estate:
Anyone who has tasted a wine from the brother-sister duo Claude-Emmanuelle and Louis-Benoît Desvignes has experienced a unique emotion. Here, the aesthetic pursuit focuses on the subtle expression of the specific vineyard sites (primarily in Morgon), the precise texture adapted to each vintage, and the aging potential resulting from meticulous viticulture, sensitive winemaking free from dogma, and refined, oak-free aging. The estate has held its third star for several years now, and given the consistency and coherence of its range, we suspect it will remain there for many years to come.

Redcurrant notes and impressive length, but it’s still too tart on the tongue. I didn’t really enjoy this wine, especially at €20.
