"The Morgon Aux Pierres Javernières 2024 comes from vines planted in 1931. It has a very well-defined nose, with more red fruit than the classic Javernières, complemented by a hint of oyster shells, a characteristic that I really appreciate. The palate is medium-bodied, very harmonious and elegant, with a subtle hint of acidity and a touch of tart cherry on the finish. The tongue tingles long after the wine has disappeared. Excellent." Rated estate (2023 guide) 3 stars (These represent the excellence of French vineyards. The best terroirs cultivated by the greatest winemakers. Tasting their wine is always a magical moment.)
About the estate:
Anyone who has tasted a wine from the brotherly duo Claude-Emmanuelle and Louis-Benoît Desvignes has experienced a special emotion. Here, the aesthetic quest focuses on the subtle expression of the terroir (mainly in Morgon), the right blend depending on the vintage, and the wine's aging potential, achieved through careful viticulture, sensitive winemaking that eschews dogma, and refined aging without wood. The third star has been pinned to the estate's jacket for several years now, and given the consistency and coherence of the range, we suspect it will remain there for many years to come.
