“Made like a light red wine!”

This Bordeaux Clairet, vinified as a light red wine, is a real gem. It offers fruitiness, freshness, and a soft, rounded texture—yet it doesn’t lack balance or character. The Cabernet Franc grapes from which it is made lend it a great deal of elegance. Ideal in the summer, as an aperitif, or paired with cold buffets and grilled meats. A must-try!

About the estate:

By 1290, the Fontenille estate in the Entre-deux-Mers region already had vineyards. Then attached to the Abbey of La Sauve-Majeure, this estate with its clay-siliceous terroir became independent in the 17th century. Since 1998, it has been managed by Stéphane Defraine, who oversees 56 hectares of vineyards—20 planted with white grapes and 36 with red—currently in the process of converting to organic farming.
