"This 5.24-hectare vineyard, located near the Epenotes and Boucherottes Premier Crus on the Pommard side, takes its name from the beech trees that once grew there. Rodolphe Demougeot cultivates half a hectare of it, planted 55 years ago. From it, he produces a stunning Beaune Village, a deep garnet color, with a cherry nose slightly vanilla-tinged from 12 months in barrel. The palate is full-bodied and deep, with firm yet refined tannins, refreshed by a touch of acidity, before lingering into a long, licorice-tinged finish. Character and solid potential." Bettane & Desseauve
Rated estate (2022 guide): 3 stars (High-quality production, setting the standard in its sector)
About the estate:
Although he has been based in the town of Meursault since 1998, Rodolphe Demougeot has been developing his estate since 1992; its core 7.8-hectare vineyard consists mainly of a fine selection of Pommard and Savigny-lès-Beaune crus. The red wines, made from meticulously sorted grapes—whole or destemmed—and vinified in concrete tanks, possess an energy that makes them drinkable even in their youth, with a rich, indulgent style well-suited for restaurants and those who prefer to drink their wines young. The whites, meanwhile, offer a crisp, clean, and structured profile.

Wine rated (2022 guide) 15/20 (Good wine)
Rated Estate (2022 Guide) Selected (Please note that this guide is a ranking, and as such, all the estates listed here—even those without a star—represent, in our view, the pinnacle of French winemaking.)
About the wine:
It shares the same woody character as the other wines, with its powdery and smoky notes. The fruit on the palate holds its own thanks to its substance and structure.
About the estate:
Rodolphe Demougeot founded his winery in 1992. He primarily produces full-bodied, intense red wines that age exceptionally well. Today, they are harmonious, having shed the harsh finishes that characterized past vintages.
