Rated estate (2022 guide) 2 stars (These very large estates, often blessed with fabulous terroirs, are must-haves which, thanks to their consistency and the excellence of their production, deserve a place in the cellars of discerning wine lovers).
About the estate:
This house is now run by Frédéric Drouhin, assisted by his sister Véronique for the wines and his brother Philippe for the vines. In July 2013, it opened a wine bar in the heart of Beaune. It has found its stride and is establishing itself as a sure bet. The house relies on a biodynamic vineyard that is particularly well endowed with great whites, in Côte-de-Beaune but also in Chablis (wines sold under the Drouhin-Vaudon label), including the famous Clos des Mouches.

Very nice concentration. Cherry is omnipresent on the palate. However, you can sense the aging, which in my opinion will take four or five years to digest. I was a little impatient with this bottle, which promises a bright future.

Note and opinion by Mr. PIERRE M. Published on 04/10/2013
It is a delicious, pleasant, full-bodied, generous wine. A beautiful 2009, tasted in its youth (in 2012) but with undoubted aging potential (I still have a few bottles left to check this out). The slight downside: like all Beaune wines, it has an immediacy that could be mistaken for a lack of complexity or originality.
