"A wine of lace and silk!"

"More appealing aromas than the Clos des Mouches Rouge. Lots of fruit, but also plenty of acidity, structure, and interest. Very good results!" (Jancis Robinson 2023)

RVF - La Revue du Vin de France / Guide des Meilleurs Vins de France

Rated estate (2022 guide) 2 stars (These very large estates, often blessed with fabulous terroirs, are must-haves which, thanks to their consistency and the excellence of their production, deserve a place in the cellars of discerning wine lovers).

About the estate:

This house is now run by Frédéric Drouhin, assisted by his sister Véronique for the wines and his brother Philippe for the vines. In July 2013, it opened a wine bar in the heart of Beaune. It has found its stride and is establishing itself as a sure bet. The house relies on a biodynamic vineyard that is particularly well endowed with great whites, in Côte-de-Beaune but also in Chablis (wines sold under the Drouhin-Vaudon label), including the famous Clos des Mouches.

About wine:

More fragrant and appealing than the Clos des Mouches Rouge. Lots of fruit, but also plenty of acidity, structure, and interest. A very good result!

Wine rated (2023 guide) 90-92/100

About wine:

The Chambolle-Musigny Premier Cru 2021 has a beautifully detailed bouquet, with more black fruit than red fruit, pressed iris flowers, and a slight hint of oyster shell. The palate is finely crafted with supple tannins and good tension, but it lacks a little concentration on the finish. A competent Chambolle-Musigny that could well improve in a few years.

James Suckling

James Suckling

Wine rated (2023 guide) 93/100

About wine:

Generous aromas of red fruit with notes of dark chocolate and pepper. A mature, structured wine for this appellation, but the moderately dry tannins are already well integrated. Long, elegant finish.
