"A beautiful, accessible, and charming white Burgundy!"

"Created by Laurent Delaunay's fifth generation, Septembre is a blend of approximately one-third Côte d'Or, Mâconnais (for richness), and Yonne (for freshness and mineral notes). A wine with lots of floral notes, while the palate is concentrated and complex, with a delicious combination of stone fruits cut through with notes of lime zest. The lively acidity and stony finish make this a lovely entry-level Burgundy Chardonnay." (Decanter 2023)

Bettane & Desseauve

3-star rating (High-quality production, serving as a benchmark in its sector)

About the estate:

More than just a novelty, it's a renaissance. The return of this old house is a welcome sight. The man who revived it is Laurent Delaunay. He is the great-grandson of the founder and has established himself as a leading figure in the Languedoc wine industry, specializing in wines for everyday enjoyment. It is in Burgundy, on his own land, that he once again demonstrates the full extent of his talent and vision. We particularly recommend the Nuits-Saint-Georges vintages, vinified with extreme care and attention to tannin extraction, resulting in voluptuous, tender wines that are always straightforward. The entire range is flawless.

About the estate:

Laurent and Catherine Delaunay, founders of the Badet-Clément wine house in Nuits-Saint-Georges, have revived the Édouard Delaunay wine merchant business, founded in 1893 by Laurent's great-grandfather. It offers a range of wines mainly from the Côte de Beaune and Côte de Nuits, ranging from regional appellations to grands crus.

Jancis Robinson

Jancis Robinson

Wine rated (2021 guide) 16/20

About wine:

Pleasant nose of peach and hazelnut. Juicy, fleshy fruits—peach, orange, cantaloupe melon—nicely sculpted by acidity. This wine has very good balance, a pleasant mid-palate, and a clean finish. This Chardonnay is more successful than its sibling, the Pinot Noir. The value for money is also much better.
