Wine rating (2020 guide) 92/100 (Outstanding wine)

About wine:

The 2018 Chablis Grand Cru Les Clos has developed well, wafting from the glass with aromas of golden orchard fruit, citrus oil, dried white flowers, and white butter. Medium-bodied to full-bodied, satiny and enveloping, it is bright and lively, with a fleshy core of fruit, succulent acids, and a delicate, mineral finish.

Wine rated (2021 guide) 97/100

Rated estate (2022 guide) 2 stars (These very large estates, often blessed with fabulous terroirs, are must-haves which, thanks to their consistency and the excellence of their production, deserve a place in the cellars of discerning wine lovers).

About wine:

Les Clos has a fuller, creamier body, but the tremendous intensity of its flavors is carried by a vigorous breath: it imposes itself with harmony and authority.

About the estate:

This family estate, established in Chablis since 1815, changed hands in 2014, passing into the fold of the Faiveley house, which thus expanded its holdings, already rich with 20 hectares of the finest Chablis terroirs, with four grands crus: Les Clos, Les Preuses, Vaudésir, and Les Blanchots; four premiers crus: Montée de Tonnerre, Mont-de-Milieu, Fourchaume and Vaillons, as well as Chablis and Petits Chablis. Olivier Bailly was appointed manager in 2014 and quickly refined the management of the vineyards. Since 2016, the return to high quality has been evident, and this estate is now one of the most reliable in Chablis.
