Domaine Billaud-Simon - Chablis Grand Cru Les Blanchots Old Vines 2009

Domaine Billaud-Simon - Chablis Grand Cru Les Blanchots Vieilles Vignes 2009

Notes: Robert Parker 90/100, RVF 18/20
Les Blanchots Vieilles Vignes is a beautiful Grand Cru that opens with honeyed, toasted nuances, fresh and fruity notes of lemongrass, verbena, slightly minty with a hint of honey candy... The woodiness is present, with delicate vanilla aromas. A real must!

Rated estate (2022 guide) 2 stars (These very large estates, often blessed with fabulous terroirs, are must-haves which, thanks to their consistency and the excellence of their production, deserve a place in the cellars of discerning wine lovers).

About the estate:

This family estate, established in Chablis since 1815, changed hands in 2014, passing into the fold of the Faiveley house, which thus expanded its holdings, already rich with 20 hectares of the finest Chablis terroirs, with four grands crus: Les Clos, Les Preuses, Vaudésir, and Les Blanchots; four premiers crus: Montée de Tonnerre, Mont-de-Milieu, Fourchaume and Vaillons, as well as Chablis and Petits Chablis. Olivier Bailly was appointed manager in 2014 and quickly refined the management of the vineyards. Since 2016, the return to high quality has been evident, and this estate is now one of the most reliable in Chablis.
