Domaine Billaud-Simon - Chablis Grand Cru Vaudésir 2012
92/100
Robert Parker
"The 2012 Vaudésir Grand Cru has a fresh, precise, granite-like nose that opens up with aeration. The palate is straightforward, with beautiful complexity, a touch of orange peel, mandarin, and a hint of ginger that enhances the long finish. Very good potential." " (Wine Advocate 2014 - Robert Parker). Vaudésir is a Chablis Grand Cru "built like a Romanesque cathedral," according to the estate...

About the estate:
RVF - La Revue du Vin de France / Guide des Meilleurs Vins de France
Rated estate (2022 guide) 2 stars (These very large estates, often blessed with fabulous terroirs, are must-haves which, thanks to their consistency and the excellence of their production, deserve a place in the cellars of discerning wine lovers).
About the estate:
This family estate, established in Chablis since 1815, changed hands in 2014, passing into the fold of the Faiveley house, which thus expanded its holdings, already rich with 20 hectares of the finest Chablis terroirs, with four grands crus: Les Clos, Les Preuses, Vaudésir, and Les Blanchots; four premiers crus: Montée de Tonnerre, Mont-de-Milieu, Fourchaume and Vaillons, as well as Chablis and Petits Chablis. Olivier Bailly was appointed manager in 2014 and quickly refined the management of the vineyards. Since 2016, the return to high quality has been evident, and this estate is now one of the most reliable in Chablis.
