Laroche Estates
Domaines Laroche, owned by the Laroche family , has been producing and making Chablis wines since 1850. Michel Laroche, representing the fifth generation, joined the family estate in 1967 to carry on the tradition and continue the work begun. From six hectares at the end of the 1960s, the Domaines Laroche vineyard now covers more than 100 hectares.

In Chablis, the quality of the Kimmeridgian geological soil contains just the right amount of limestone to bring out the mineral character, the gravel necessary for good drainage, the clay in the subsoil to retain sufficient water, and finally, good exposure to the sun in a region that rarely suffers from excessive heat. At Domaines Laroche, everything comes together to produce great Chardonnay wines. The grapes are harvested at full maturity, but care is taken not to go too far so as to preserve the freshness of the Chardonnay's aromas. Low-pressure pneumatic presses preserve the quality of the grapes. Domaines Laroche's Petits Chablis and Chablis wines are generally bottled from April onwards, while the Premiers and Grands Crus wait 11 to 14 months to complete their aging.
