Robert Parker
“ In contrast to the incisive style of the Les Lys cuvée, the 2017 Chablis 1er Cru Beugnons offers a riper bouquet of yellow orchard fruits, candied citrus, and fresh butter, followed by a medium-bodied palate that is silky, fuller-bodied, and fruitier while remaining bright and lively, ending with a salty finish. ” (Wine Advocate 2019)

Rated estate (2020 guide): 3 stars (High-quality production, setting the standard in its sector)
About the estate:
Cécilia Trimaille has just settled in Chablis, taking over from Matthieu Mangenot at the helm of Domaine Long-Depaquit, the Bichot family’s Chablis estate since 1970. The vineyard here is one of the most comprehensive in the region, spanning 65 hectares, including 5 of the appellation’s 7 grands crus (not counting the famous Moutonne monopole); a tasting here offers a wonderful glimpse into the diversity of the area’s terroirs. The 2017 vintage was good despite the spring frost, which affected volumes more than quality. With the exception of the disappointing Les-Lys premier cru, all the other vintages tasted excellent.

Wine rated (2019 guide) 90/100 (Excellent wine)
Estate rated "Recommended" (Wine producer recommended by Robert Parker - The Wine Advocate)
About the wine:
In contrast to the crisp style of the Les Lys cuvée, the 2017 Chablis 1er Cru Beugnons offers a more mature bouquet of yellow orchard fruits, candied citrus, and fresh butter, followed by a medium-bodied palate that is silky, fuller-bodied, and fruitier, yet remains bright and lively, finishing with a briny aftertaste.

Wine rated (2020 guide) 14/20 (Good wine)
Rated estate (2020 guide) Selected (Please note that this guide is a ranking, and as such, all the estates listed here—even those without a star—represent, in our view, the pinnacle of French winemaking.)
About the estate:
A well-known Beaune-based producer, Albert Bichot owns the Long-Depaquit estate in Chablis, which encompasses a prestigious selection of vineyards, including the La Moutonne grand cru—which he holds as a monopoly—benefiting from the sunniest exposure in the appellation. The wines often express a roundness and generosity that make them approachable when young. While the range appears more consistent, the expression of the terroirs can certainly gain in intensity and precision. Cécilia Trimaille, 31, the new estate manager, will strive to support this progress.
