Lively and crisp, Agnès Paquet’s Crémant de Bourgogne features aromas of white and yellow fruits with hints of honey, caramel, and white flowers. It is a complex cuvée, thanks to its blend of Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, Gamay, and Aligoté, which offers beautiful body on the palate.

Rated estate (2021 guide): 2*Stars (A solid, recommendable vintage, though slightly more consistent and uniform than the previous one)

About the estate:

Agnès Paquet produced her first vintage in Meloisey in 2001 from a family-owned vineyard in Auxey-Duresses. She has masterfully managed her estate and now oversees 12.5 hectares in the Hautes-Côtes de Beaune, Auxey-Duresses, Chassagne-Montrachet, and Saint-Aubin, where the vines are tended with care according to organic principles. The whites are crisp and refined, and the reds—partially vinified as whole clusters—are precise and full of flavor. Of particular note is the estate’s house sparkling wine, produced using the ancestral method and made exclusively from Aligoté.

Rated Estate (2021 Guide) Award-Winning Wines (This producer's wines regularly receive awards from the guide)

About the estate:

Agnès Paquet founded her estate in 2000 on a plot of land acquired by her family in the 1950s. Located in the Hautes-Côtes de Beaune, she cultivates 9.5 hectares of vineyards, a large portion of which are in Melin, a hamlet of Auxey-Duresses. The transition to organic farming is underway.

Rated Estate (2021 Guide) Selected (Please note that this guide is a ranking, and as such, all the estates listed here—even those without a star—represent, in our view, the pinnacle of French winemaking.)

About the estate:

It was to prevent the sale of the family vineyard in Auxey-Duresses that Agnès Paquet, a business school graduate, chose to become a winemaker. She released her first vintage in 2001. Her style consistently emphasizes honesty and freshness, which we greatly appreciate.
