Domaine des Perdrix - Echezeaux 2011

Domaine des Perdrix - Echezeaux 2011

Notes: RVF 17/20, Bettane & Desseauve 17/20
“Deep color, excellent vinous character, firm tannins; still young but clearly the result of a meticulously ripened and sorted harvest. ” (The Bettane & Desseauve Guide to French Wines 2014). A wine that develops aromas of fresh fruit and red berries, with delicate and elegant tannins.

Rated estate (2021 guide): 4*Stars (Producers of the very highest quality, the pride of French viticulture)

About the estate:

Operated by the Devillard family—which also owns Château de Chamirey in Mercurey—the vineyard is situated on remarkable terroirs in the southern part of the Côte de Nuits, and its grapes are vinified in the spirit of modern wines, seeking high ripeness and deep, voluptuous textures. The results have been impressive in recent years, even at the commune level, with wines that are now very refined—a departure from the more robust styles we were accustomed to. The 2018 vintage has been captured here in all its fullness; these will be wines suitable for aging, and indeed for very long-term aging in the case of the Nuits and Échezeaux. There is also a delightful red Burgundy.
