Domaine des Perdrix - Echezeaux 2011

Domaine des Perdrix - Echezeaux 2011

Notes: RVF 17/20, Bettane & Desseauve 17/20
“Deep color, excellent structure, firm tannins; still young but clearly the product of a meticulously ripened and sorted harvest. ” (The Bettane & Desseauve Guide to French Wines 2014). A wine that develops aromas of fresh fruit and red berries, with delicate and elegant tannins.

Rated estate (2021 guide): 4* Stars (Producers of the very highest quality, the pride of French viticulture)

About the estate:

Run by the Devillard family, who also own Château de Chamirey in Mercurey, the vineyard is situated on remarkable terroirs in the southern part of the Côte de Nuits, and its grapes are vinified in the spirit of modern wines, seeking high ripeness and deep, voluptuous textures. The results have been impressive in recent years, even at the village level, with wines that are now very refined—a departure from the more robust styles we used to know. The 2018 vintage has captured all its potential here; these will be wines for aging, and indeed for very long aging in the case of the Nuits and Échezeaux. There is also a delightful red Burgundy.
