“This year’s sole Favorite award Favorite the appellation goes to a village wine and the excellent Rodolphe Demougeot. He has crafted a Pommard that is vibrant and expressive, with a deep color verging on black—a sign of beautiful concentration. The nose, intense and refined, blends woody and spicy notes of sandalwood, vetiver, and nutmeg. The palate, full-bodied, dense, and smooth, is supported by ripe, perfectly integrated tannins and lingers into a long, gentle finish. A wine of character—harmonious and distinguished—that combines controlled power with elegance. ” (Hachette Guide 2026)

Bettane & Desseauve
Rated estate (2022 guide): 3*Stars (High-quality production that serves as a benchmark in its sector)
About the estate:
Although he has been based in the town of Meursault since 1998, Rodolphe Demougeot has been developing his estate since 1992; its core 7.8-hectare vineyard consists mainly of a fine selection of Pommard and Savigny-lès-Beaune crus. The red wines, made from meticulously sorted grapes—whole-cluster or destemmed—and vinified in concrete tanks, possess a vitality that makes them enjoyable even when young, with a rich, indulgent style that is well-suited for dining and for those who prefer to drink their wines young. The white wines, on the other hand, offer a crisp, clean, and well-structured profile.

Rated Estate (2022 Guide) Selected (Please note that this guide is a ranking, and as such, all the estates listed here—even those without a star—represent, in our view, the excellence of French winemaking.)
About the estate:
Rodolphe Demougeot founded his winery in 1992. He primarily produces lively, full-bodied red wines that age very well. Today, they are harmonious, free of the harsh finishes that characterized past vintages.
