"According to James Suckling, this Pouilly-Loché, with its exceptional concentration and maturity, is making waves in the world of Chardonnay!"
“A powerful nose with notes of candied orange peel and baking spices, along with a subtle mineral touch. Exceptional concentration and maturity, while maintaining balance and precision: this clearly proves that you don’t need a ‘1er cru’ appellation to make a splash in the world of Chardonnay! And the smoky note integrates beautifully into this full-bodied palate. An intensely chalky finish with lovely length! Made from organically grown grapes. Drink now or cellar.” (James Suckling 2024)

About the estate:
In 2002, Olivier Giroux purchased the Saint-Philibert estate in Loché, renaming it after his largest vineyard, the Clos des Rocs. He cultivates 9 hectares of vines that are about 60 years old, 6 of which are in Pouilly-Loché. In 2006, he began converting the estate to organic farming and obtained certification in 2014. This young man in his forties plays a key role in raising the profile of Pouilly-Loché wines, for which he is the finest ambassador. Minimalist in the cellar, he relies on moderate oak aging and unhurried bottling. His wines, of great purity, captivate with their crystal-clear, fresh, and subtly oaked character.

About the wine:
Clos des Rocs Monopole is refined and precise, well-structured, briny, and mouth-watering; it deserves to age so it can relax a bit and reveal its full potential, as its texture is still a bit tight.
