Maison Auvigue - Saint-Véran Les Chênes 2023
16,5/20
Jancis Robinson
“A Saint-Véran revealing all the complexity of Chardonnay, where jammy, lemony and honeyed flavors intermingle, a delight.”
“Ripe, sweet, and fat fruit. Candied citrus peel, apricots, dried peaches. Almost honeyed! Earl Grey tea. It’s quite impressive for such a “cheap” wine. Real complexity, curves, and substance. But also fresh and vibrant. 2025-2030” (Jancis Robinson 2025)

About the domain :
In 1946, Francis Auvigue joined forces with three other producer friends to create a small trading house specializing in Pouilly-Fuissé. Francis' grandsons Jean-Pierre and Michel took over in the 1970-75s, developing the other appellations of the Mâconnais. In 2017, the company took over a 7-hectare vineyard and moved into the old church in Fuissé, which had been converted into a wine-making and tasting and sales facility. Today, Sylvain Brenas, Francis' great-grandson, and Céline Hirsh are at the helm.
