Rating: Robert Parker 91/100
“The 2011 Saint Véran Terres Noires reveals a nuanced, relatively complex bouquet with aromas of nectarine, honeysuckle, and jasmine that gently fill the glass. The palate is well-balanced with delicate acidity, notes of orange zest and lime that gradually lead to a beautifully elegant finish.” (Wine Advocate - Robert Parker)

Bettane & Desseauve

Rated (2016 guide): 2 stars (A solid, recommendable wine, though slightly more consistent and uniform than the previous vintage)

About the estate:

A workaholic with a passion for terroirs, Christophe Cordier is always on the move, with his businesses—both the family estate and the wine trading operation—constantly expanding. In both cases, he has invested in state-of-the-art facilities that are rare in the region and at the cutting edge of oenological innovation. The vineyard-specific approaches are precise and the aging styles are diversifying, but the sometimes excessive oakiness still masks the expression of certain vintages.

Rated estate (2015 guide) 1*Star (Up-and-coming stars or quality winemakers producing wines of a high standard—you won’t be disappointed when you taste the wines from these estates)

About the estate:

Founded in 1945, the Cordier estate was taken over by Roger Cordier in 1971. The arrival of his son Christophe at his side a little over five years ago has not altered the wines’ exemplary style. The estate has remained at the top of its game for many years.
