About the wine:
The current vintage is the 2021 Pintia, an exceptional vintage in Toro—one of the best to date. It was harvested during a cooler year, which gives it greater freshness despite its 15% alcohol content, with a pH of 3.83 and an acidity of 4.7 grams. It fermented in stainless steel and oak tanks, then aged partly in stainless steel tanks (15%), barriques, and large oak casks—75% of which were new oak—for 11 months. Three rainy spells in September truly defined the vintage—which is unusual for the region—and were the icing on the cake of a cooler year. The wine is still more powerful than wines from Ribera or Rioja, with more punch, density, and abundant tannins, yet it maintains excellent balance and lovely freshness. This is a long-aging Pintia, similar to a 2018 but with more body. A total of 235,355 bottles, 13,944 half-bottles, 6,535 magnums, and a few larger sizes were produced. It was bottled in April 2023. 2026–2036
