"Introducing Oremus's Aszú wines: a 3-puttonyos crafted in the purest tradition and described by James Suckling as rich, creamy, and full-bodied!"

“Enticing notes of candied pineapple, dried lemons, frozen peaches, honeysuckle, and beeswax. Dense and creamy, yet fresh and lively, with a juicy acidity that stands out. Delicious dried-fruit character with mineral notes. Drink now or cellar.” (James Suckling 2023)

Manuals

Winemaking

Selective harvesting, gentle pressing to obtain a high-density must, fermentation in new Hungarian oak barrels (100%) for up to 4 weeks

Production method

A meticulous process possible only in exceptional vintages and under conditions that favor Botrytis infection of the grapes (the same method has been used for hundreds of years). Aszú refers to the dried grapes, and "puttonyos" means "basket"; the number preceding it—here "3"—indicates the number of 25-kg baskets of botrytised grapes added to a 136-liter "Gönc" barrel of must (unfermented grape juice)—so the higher the number, the higher the sugar content in your Tokaji!

Livestock farming

Aged for 2 years in 136- and 200-liter barrels, followed by an additional year of aging in bottles

Alcohol content

11,5%

Residual sugars

140 g/L

Eye

Light golden color, clear and bright

Nose

Fresh and complex, with notes of candied lemon peel, lime zest, peach, and pear compote, as well as hints of linden, chamomile, and acacia honey

Palate

A fresh and intense attack, with pleasant acidity and well-integrated sweetness that complements its already rich aromatic complexity; notes of orange zest, vanilla, and fresh almond emerge, creating a deliciously indulgent wine with a textured, elegant, and lingering finish
