“When tasting the 2013 Guardiola, our thoughts wander to the immense beauty of this vineyard. It is probably one of the most beautiful sites we have had the honor of visiting in Italy. This otherworldly beauty—with walls of volcanic stone, pre-phylloxera vines, cherry trees, and wildflowers, along with small shrines to the Virgin Mary peeking out among the vines—is etched in our memories. Guardiola is one of my favorite Etnas. It expresses itself with firmness and sophistication, featuring notes of blackcurrant supported by lovely minerality and hints of dried flowers. The tannins are firm and drying. This vintage far exceeds our expectations.” (Wine Advocate 2015 - Robert Parker)

About the wine:
Pale ruby. A mineral-driven nose with notes of spice and a hint of cherry in the background. It is concentrated and elegant, with a touch of tannin. Best enjoyed after another year of aging.
