"One of the best Italian white wines in terms of value for money, according to James Suckling!"

“A zesty symphony where Meyer lemons and lime zest take the lead, accompanied by a chorus of crushed seashells. The performance hits all the high notes as the citrus energy dances across a chalky, mineral stage, building to a crescendo that makes you want to applaud. This may not be the family’s calling card, but make no mistake: stash a few bottles in your cellar and you’ll be rewarded with one of the world’s best aged wines at a reasonable price. Drink now–2045” (Wine Enthusiast 2026)

Wine rated (2025 guide) 92/100 (An outstanding wine)

About the wine:

Bottled with a screw cap, the Pieropan 2024 Organic Soave Classico is a highly regarded wine from northern Italy—and for very good reason. This simple expression of the Garganega grape (blended with 15% Trebbiano di Soave for added richness) offers lovely freshness, mineral notes, and sweet primary aromas reminiscent of freshly cut apple and white peach. This vintage was far from easy, but this white wine comes through with flying colors. The Pieropan family does a wonderful job with this entry-level cuvée, produced in a volume of 560,000 bottles. The grapes come from 60 hectares of volcanic soil, and the wine spends five to six months in cement tanks. The process is simple and straightforward, and the wine is delicious. 2025–2028

Review by Mr. GILLES D. Published on April 16, 2026

Discover this entry-level Soave, which offers a clean, straightforward palate with vibrant acidity and a smooth, creamy texture. It builds in intensity, starting with vegetal notes and moving into zesty ones, while its liveliness is accentuated on the finish by a salty touch blended with subtle bitterness. On the patio, it pairs perfectly with a simple risotto made with green asparagus and Parmesan, or a plate of small fried fish (joels, sardines, red mullet...) drizzled with lemon juice.
