“A very approachable Trousseau—the perfect pairing for salted pork with lentils!”

"The red marl of the Lias from which this Trousseau is made is actually much less intense in color. The color, somewhere between blackcurrant and violet, is quite bright. The nose is still closed but already reveals some lovely notes of cherry, blackberry, and a hint of spice. Round and inviting, the palate opens with strawberry and finishes with morello cherry. The tannins are well-integrated, and the harmony is evident. Representative of the appellation and the vintage, this wine shows great promise.” (Le Guide Hachette 2025)

Wine rated (2024 guide) 90/100

Winery rated 1*Star (A high-quality, recommended wine that lives up to what one would expect from its appellation(s))

About the estate:

He represents the tenth generation of the Badoz family in Poligny. After training at the Beaune wine school, he returned to the estate in 2003 and opened the new winery in 2004. It took him some time to make the switch to organic farming, but he obtained certification in 2019. The estate’s vineyards are located in the Roussots and Grands Roussots vineyard sites. Half of the estate is planted with Savagnin, which doesn’t mean the reds should be overlooked. He pushes barrel aging a bit further on certain cuvées.

It's missing that certain something. It's too light and tart.
