This rosé is a real success, with its floral notes, subtle tannins, and a mouth-watering finish reminiscent of hay.

About the estate:

Sophie and Thibaud Bardi de Fourtou took over this historic Faugères estate in 2017. The wines we tasted for this issue are the last vestiges of the transition from Jean-Michel Alquier to the new owners. The couple’s goal? To preserve the estate’s signature style, whose vineyards are dominated by old Syrah vines from massal selections (among the first planted in Languedoc in the 1960s by Jean-Michel Alquier’s father, Gilbert), complemented by Mourvèdre and Grenache. We will be keeping a close eye on this new chapter.

Discover this latest release from Bardi d'Alquier. A light, exceptionally pure rosé that unfolds with pleasant vibrancy and freshness, featuring floral notes within a supple, crisp, and luscious texture with well-defined acidity. It finishes with a smooth, mouth-watering aftertaste and a hint of citrus. All in all, a quintessential summer rosé that isn’t groundbreaking, but is nonetheless approachable and easy to pair—whether served at 8°C as an aperitif with tapas, or at the dinner table with a wok of shrimp pad thai. Rating = 3.8.
