Bardi d'Alquier Estate
A breath of fresh air is sweeping through the Alquier estate, which has been in the process of changing hands for several years. Jean-Michel Alquier, a renowned Languedoc winemaker and a leading figure in Faugères, passed the torch in 2017 to Sophie and Thibaud Bardi de Fourtou. Now renamed Bardi d'Alquier in homage to this Languedoc legend, the estate is currently managed by Sophie and Thibaud Bardi de Fourtou, who continue Jean-Michel Alquier’s work with respect for tradition, staying true to the terroir, and practicing the most natural viticulture possible, all while adding their own personal touch.

Located in the Faugères appellation area, in the Languedoc region, the Bardi d'Alquier estate comprises 12 hectares of vineyards, almost all dedicated to red wine production (10 hectares), on schist soils, primarily on hillsides. The vineyard’s grape varieties are predominantly Syrah, which brings impressive aromatics, complemented by Grenache Noir for finesse and elegance, and Mourvèdre, which adds the final touch of complexity. White grape varieties account for 2 hectares of the vineyard, including Marsanne, Roussanne, Grenache Blanc, and Sauvignon.

The wines remain as delicious as ever, combining finesse, complexity, and an expression of the Faugères terroir. A must-visit in Faugères.
