"Warm and well-balanced"

“Blackcurrant, blueberry, plum, and violet on the nose, leading to a medium-bodied palate with fine tannins. A delicious core of blue fruit at the center and a juicy finish. Very drinkable. Ready to drink now.” (James Suckling).

Rated estate (2026 guide) 1*Star (Rising stars or high-quality winemakers producing wines of a good standard—you won’t be disappointed when you taste the wines from these estates)

About the estate:

Sophie and Thibaud Bardi de Fourtou took over this historic estate in Faugères in 2017. The wines we tasted for this edition are the last vestiges of the transition from Jean-Michel Alquier to the new owners. What is the couple’s goal? To preserve the estate’s signature style, which is defined by old Syrah vines from massal selections (among the first planted in Languedoc in the 1960s by Jean-Michel Alquier’s father, Gilbert) complemented by Mourvèdre and Grenache. We’ll be keeping a close eye on this new chapter.
