Rated estate (2026 guide) Award-winning wines (This producer's wines are regularly awarded by the guide)
About the estate:
Originally from the Oise region, Xavier Weisskopf established his farm (17 hectares of organic land) in 2005. Nothing predestined him for this profession, but his studies in Chablis introduced him to the world of wine, which led him to the "Viti" in Beaune, then to Gigondas, and finally to the banks of the Loire.
Robert Parker - Wine Advocate
Wine rating (2025 guide) 91/100 (Outstanding wine)
About wine:
Offering a restrained and introverted bouquet of violet and wild black berries mixed with pepper and jasmine, the Touraine Cot Vieilles Vignes 2022 is a medium-bodied, dense, and juicy wine. It is rich and fresh despite a somewhat austere profile.
RVF - La Revue du Vin de France / Guide des Meilleurs Vins de France
Wine rated (2026 guide) 90/100
Rated estate (2026 guide) 1*Star (Up-and-coming stars or quality winemakers producing good-quality wines; you won't be disappointed when tasting the wines from these estates)
About wine:
As usual, the Côt needs time to soften its initial reduction and release its juicy mass, set with prominent tannins. A red that is more wintery than spring-like.
About the estate:
Starting out with limited resources in a makeshift cellar in 2005, Clémence and Xavier Weisskopf have succeeded, through courage and tenacity, in building up their vineyard. For several years now, they have been among the leading figures in Montlouis-Sur-Loire. The 17 hectares spread between Montlouis and Touraine are cultivated Organic. Touche Mitaine (flinty clay), Les Borderies (clay-limestone, 40-year-old vines), Le Grand Poirier (clay-sand, 67-year-old vines)... A myriad of terroirs have been isolated in bottles, in whites that aim for aromatic nuance, delicacy, and the honest expression of dry Chenin or Chenin with residual sugars, depending on the mood of the vintage. These are wines of great sincerity that delight the taste buds!
