“A subtle austerity blends with the ripe character of this gently vinified Cabernet Franc. We love the intensely fruity body that unfolds on the palate. Serve at 13°C. ” (La Revue du Vin de France - June 2021). This Chinon Tradition boasts a ruby-purple hue and offers a rich, complex, and well-defined aromatic profile, featuring lovely notes of ripe fruit. The palate is balanced, revealing a subtle hint of aromas from the gravelly soil within a fairly tannic profile… Perfect for pairing with red meat, for example!

Bettane & Desseauve
Winery rated 1 star (A high-quality, recommended wine that lives up to what one would expect from its appellation(s))
About the estate:
Established in 1981 on part of the family estate in Cravant-les-Coteaux, Pierre Sourdais cultivates his 27 hectares of vines using organic farming methods, with terroirs both on the plains and on the hillsides. The Réserve Stanislas and Les Boulaies cuvées are particularly noteworthy, producing wines with the best tannic structure and aging potential.
Guide Hachette des vins
Rated estate (2024 guide) Award-winning wines (This producer’s wines are regularly recognized by the guide)
About the estate:
It was at Moulin-à-Tan that oak bark was once crushed for use in tanning hides in the region's many tanneries. Today, the old mill has been replaced by a 27-hectare vineyard, organically farmed by Pierre Sourdais, who is gradually handing it over to his daughter Caroline and son-in-law Sylvain. A sure bet in the Chinon region.
