Made from Chenin grapes that have been lightly sun-dried, the Les Borderies cuvée offers a subtle sweetness, enhanced by the crispness of the vintage, without any heaviness. Both the nose and palate reveal the pear and white flower notes typical of the grape variety. A balanced, round white wine that pairs beautifully with sweet-and-salty dishes.

Rated estate (2026 guide) Award-winning wines (This producer’s wines are regularly recognized by the guide)

About the estate:

Originally from the Oise region, Xavier Weisskopf established his vineyard (17 hectares of organic land) in 2005. Wine rated (2017 guide) 15,5/20 (Good wine)

Rated estate (2026 guide) 1*Star (Up-and-coming stars or quality winemakers producing wines of a high standard—you won’t be disappointed when tasting the wines from these estates)

About the wine:

Round and supple, Les Borderies has its light sweetness wrapped in a dense, still reserved structure, with a slightly compact finish.

About the estate:

Starting out with limited resources in a makeshift cellar in 2005, Clémence and Xavier Weisskopf have succeeded, through courage and tenacity, in building their own vineyard. For several years now, they have been among the leading producers in Montlouis-sur-Loire. The 17 hectares, spread between Montlouis and Touraine, are cultivated Organic. Touche Mitaine (flinty clay), Les Borderies (clay-limestone, 40-year-old vines), Le Grand Poirier (clay-sandy, 67-year-old vines)... A myriad of terroirs has been captured in the bottle, in whites that aim for aromatic nuance, delicacy, and the authentic expression of Chenin Blanc—whether dry or with residual sugar, depending on the character of the vintage. These are wines of great sincerity that delight the palate!

A semi-dry wine that should be full-bodied and fruity, but doesn't really live up to that promise. A renowned winery and a high price tag make one wary of their other vintages.

A truly beautiful wine, with great finesse. At this stage, it needs a little time to breathe in the glass to reveal its full subtlety and lovely aromas of yellow fruit. It has a lovely, lingering finish, where the Chenin’s acidity makes the 10 grams of residual sugar almost imperceptible. Perfect for enhancing a savory-sweet gourmet appetizer!
