“A truly exceptional Loire wine of great finesse. Let yourself be swept away by its irresistible charm!”

“Les Malgagnes is the estate’s historic vineyard, with its ochre-colored soils of clay and limestone, ideally situated on the hillside above the village. Yannick Amirault has crafted a flamboyant 2023 vintage from it, aged in barrels and jars, rich in color, with expansive aromas of red fruit, toasted hazelnut, and vanilla. The full-bodied palate, already very open, showcases the vintage’s sweetness, complemented here by silky tannins and ideal freshness. The balance is perfect, the aging judicious, and the finish is long: a great Breton wine and yet another favorite to add to this leading winemaker’s portfolio.” (Le Guide Hachette 2026)

Rated estate (2026 guide) Award-winning wines (This producer’s wines are regularly recognized by the guide)

About the wine:

Les Malgagnes is the estate’s historic vineyard, with its ochre-colored soils of clay and limestone, ideally situated on the hillside above the village. Yannick Amirault has crafted a flamboyant 2023 vintage here, aged in both barrels and jars, rich in color, with expansive aromas of red fruit, toasted hazelnut, and vanilla. The full-bodied palate, already very open, showcases the vintage’s sweetness, complemented here by silky tannins and ideal freshness. The balance is perfect, the aging judicious, and the finish is long: a great Breton wine and yet another favorite from this leading winemaker.

About the estate:

With vineyards in Saint-Nicolas and Bourgueil, Yannick Amirault is one of the most reliable names in these two appellations. His son Benoît now cultivates the estate’s 19 hectares using organic methods.

Rated estate (2026 guide) 2*Stars (These exceptional estates, often boasting fabulous terroirs, are must-haves that, thanks to the consistency and excellence of their wines, deserve a place in the cellars of discerning wine lovers)

About the estate:

Benoît joined the family estate in Bourgueil in 2003 to carry on the family venture started by his father, Yannick, in 1997. Two-thirds of the vineyards are located in Bourgueil, with the remainder in the neighboring appellation of Saint-Nicolas-de-Bourgueil. You can sense the winemakers’ perfectionism and their desire to capture the expression of the terroirs through very silky and refined Cabernet Francs that still retain vibrant fruit. The estate has been certified organic since 2009, and the wines gain in purity each year thanks to increasingly precise winemaking methods (truncated wooden vats, barrels, and stoneware jars). The 2022 and 2023 vintages delight us with their frank, clean expression and finesse.
