About the estate:
Julien and Clément Raimbault cultivate 21 hectares on the hillsides of Maimbray and Sury-en-Vaux, in clay-limestone soils. Their highly consistent lineup features well-rounded wines in both red and white, with reds that combine power and elegance and whites that are pure and refined. All at very reasonable prices. A sure bet.

The Raimbault brothers, Julien and Clément, embody the new generation of Sancerre winemakers. Over the past few vintages, we’ve been delighted to see a greater sense of freedom in the wines’ expression. They’re now more relaxed and indulgent, while retaining the precision that has become their hallmark. 2022, a sunny vintage, is a masterful balancing act! 2023, unsurprisingly, has produced wines that are more refined and elegant.

A remarkable Sancerre made from Pinot Noir. Round and full-bodied on the palate, with silky, supple tannins and notes of red fruit. A lovely, lingering finish. I’ll have very fond memories of this wine—and of the roasted quail as well.
